I usually don’t like to write longer posts on Tumblr, but there’s not really a good E7 community on LJ, so fuq it.
I read Ch. 2 of AO today, and I have FEELINGS.
- Ao and Naru are precious bbs and I ship them really hard and I just know that they are going to make me cry all over myself eventually.
- Gazelle is so Holland’s son, it’s not even funny. Also, I friend-ship him and Ao like burning.
- FUCK YES THEMES ABOUT TOLERANCE. It doesn’t surprise me at all that people are still so hostile towards the Scub. That issue really didn’t get resolved at the end of Eureka Seven. I mean, all the character arcs were wrapped up and they saved the world, but the question of whether humans and Coralians would be able to coexist peacefully was never definitively answered. Nirvash just said that they might be able to find a solution some day in the future. I guess the manga just said, “Welcome to the future.”
- Themes about the power of unconditional love and family are rearing their heads, too! We have Ao and Naru’s relationship, and there’s still Ao’s relationship with Old Man Fukai to explore. And I feel like Ao and Gazelle are gonna be friends, so there’s that, too. And Ao’s mother, of course. Which brings me to my next point…
- EUREKA. YOU JUST APPEARED? WHAT? HOW? Where’s Renton? Where are your kids? SCUB WHY WOULD YOU USE YOUR PHYSICS WARPING POWERS TO SEPARATE YOURÂ AMBASSADOR FROM HER PARTNER WHEN YOUR GOAL IS TO COMMUNICATE AND COEXIST WITH HUMANS THROUGH THE POWER OF LOVE? Unless it’s something else. I’m very curious to see. Also, Eureka so totally is not dead. She exists somewhere. And if there is not at some point a beautiful scene of her reuniting with Renton and the children that I can read while listening to “Wish Upon A Star” and cry all over the place to, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT I’LL DO.
I’ll probably just put the song on and cry anyway.
On a less tasteful note, congrats on the sex, Eureka. *is shot*
